1. Planning
- Pick LVP style: plank size, finish, and color
- Decide layout direction—this affects visual impact
- Check manufacturer specs for expansion clearance and underlayment
- ✅ Simple choices upfront help avoid returns or re-installs later
2. Prep
- Remove old flooring—some LVP can float over it, but verify flatness first
- ⚠️ Biggest DIY blind spot: floor flatness matters even with “floating” installs
- Fix dips, humps, or transitions with patch or feather compound
- Clean surface thoroughly—dust and grit cause soft spots or clicks
- Dry-fit several planks to preview layout and seam staggering
3. Set
- Start against longest wall using spacers to leave expansion gap
- Use tapping block and pull bar to seat planks tightly—don’t hammer directly
- Cut planks with fine-tooth blade (vinyl melts with heat!)
- ⚠️ Expect tricky cuts around door frames, toilets, and vents
- Plan ahead to avoid ending rows with slivers—recenter layout if needed
4. Finish
- Install transitions and base trim—leave expansion room
- Caulk edges for water resistance around wet zones
- Clean surface before final walk-through—check for floating corners

How does delivery & pickup work?

Rentals run from 9:00 a.m. on the first day to 5:00 p.m. on the final day. We deliver between 7:00–9:00 a.m. and pick up between 5:00–7:00 p.m.
Sometimes delivery may happen the night before or pickup the morning after your rental — you’re never charged extra for time outside your window.
