Pricing is based on package retail value and rental duration.
In your first day, the price of delivery, processing, and other handling fees are included.

That’s why Toolio offers flexible weekend options with daily rates up to 80% lower — perfect for multi‑weekend DIYers.

Who Is Toolio?
Toolio is a Boston-Based startup company founded by Zack Quinn and Nathan Ruff while at Babson College. We’re new at this company – but we’re not new to the game. Zack was an engineer at an aerospace company from nearly 10 years and Nathan is a consumer-marketing leader who helps us to best communicate our brand. They both are wholly focused on a goal: make DIY a fun, high-quality, and value-added service.

What Are The Drop-Off & Pickup Windows?
We schedule drop-offs and pickups in standard morning and evening windows:
Drop-offs: 7am – 9am
Pickups: 5pm – 7pm
Occasionally to help maintain our free shipping, we may offer delivery the night before your rental and pickup the morning after your rental ends — if we do, you’re never charged for extra time outside the rental window.

What About Building Materials?
Most materials — like lumber, flooring, tiles, and paint — are purchased separately. We focus on giving you the best value through reusable, pro‑grade tool rentals, while leaving consumables to the many excellent retailers already out there.
For some projects, we include small but essential consumables — like wall anchors, zip ties, or spare screws — so you’re never stuck mid‑task.
Every project page includes a “What materials will I need?” section — a ready‑made shopping list with our recommended products and stores.
Prefer not to shop yourself? Choose our “Shop for Me” option, and we’ll source everything for you.
What If I Already Own Some Tools?
Each Project Bundle has options for customization including skipping tools that are already owned.
Will You Teach Me How To Use The Tools?
Each tool / project includes how-to’s in videos and written guides.
What If a Tool Breaks? Am I Liable?
Our tools are professional-grade, built-to last and are difficult to damage. Still – you might want to know – “What if something breaks?”
We’re really focused on just getting the tools back. When tools don’t come back on-time, it’s the next renter who may be impacted.
Your rental order includes coverage for general wear and tear. Significant damage caused through negligence are not covered and you will be charged up to the retail price of the item.
3 scenarios for liability:

- Consumables: these items are meant to be consumed quickly. We rent them at a discount to retail price and get several uses out of them. These items carry no renter liability.
- Durable tools: like miter saws and other power tools. Each item includes a guide of how to avoid damage through good practices.
Our primary concern with these items is on-time return.
After rental is late, rate converts to a daily rate for up to 7 days.
After 7-days without, the full replacement charge is assessed – with total per-item pricing capped at retail value of the item. - Material-contact tools: like paint sprayers and concrete mixers. These items are highly durable and follow rules of scenario 2 yet can be ruined through one rental skipping cleaning. These items will be closely inspected on return, and a cleaning/replacement fee may be assessed up to the retail value of the item.
A complete description of liability is included in the rental agreement, completed as part of ordering.
